On August 16th, Zhejiang Hisun Biomaterials Co., Ltd., a Sinopec Capital invested company (hereinafter referred to as "Hisun Biomaterials", 688203.SH), was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s sci-tech innovation board, commonly known as the STAR market. Zhou Meiyun, Vice Chairman of the Board, President of Sinopec Capital, rang the bell with representatives from the government and shareholders of Hisun Biomaterials. He Jianying, Sinopec Chief Expert, Deputy Managing Director of Development Planning Department of Sinopec Headquarters and the president of Hisun Biomaterials gave speeches at the bell-ringing ceremony, in celebration of the IPO success.

In order to implement Sinopec Group’s strategy, Sinopec Capital, valuing Hisun Biomaterials’ position as the pioneer and leading player in PLA (Polylactic acid) industry, made the investment to become the second largest shareholder of Hisun Biomaterials. It is believed that with the IPO of Hisun Biomaterials, there will be more cooperative opportunities for the two companies, and Sinopec’s production of degradable materials and Hisun Biomaterials’ production of PLA material could achieve synergy. 

Hisun Biomaterials is Sinopec’s fourth listed investee company, and the second one to be listed on the STAR market. It reflects Sinopec Capital’s investment philosophy of “technology oriented” and “value investment”.
