Recently Sinopec Capital Co., Ltd. has set up Jiangsu Jinling Chuanglian New Materials LLC. (hereafter referred to as “JV”) with the regional partner in Lianyungang Municipality of Jiangsu Province. This move is in alignment with Sinopec’s growth pattern of One Foundation of energy resources, Two Wings of clean energy and synthetic materials, and Three Growth Points of new energy, new economy and new areas, with an aim to strengthen the refining and marketing value chain as well as the chemical business, and create industrial synergy with Sinopec Group. Located in the Biotechnology Park of Haizhou Bay, Ganyu District of Lianyungang city, the JV is engaged in needle coke project and committed to build high-end graphite material brand.

In its 1st phase, the project is expected to build the calcined needle coke facility with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes per annum, which is to be operational in September 2021. Sinopec Capital is allied with Sinopec Jinling Company and Sinopec Refinery Product Sales Co., Ltd. to undertake the building, production, operation and marketing of the JV.
