On February 21st, the third session of the Sinopec Capital Forum was held, during which Yan Yan, Founder and Managing Partner of SAIF Partners and member of the Advisory Board of Sinopec Capital, shared with Sinopec Capital employees his thoughts on investment. As the former independent director of Sinopec Corp., Yan bore witness to how Sinopec Group established Sinopec Capital. He briefly reviewed the initial purposes of the new establishment: (1) to improve returns of capital owned by Sinopec Group; (2) to embrace and address such imminent technological changes as energy revolution, computing revolution, and the big data and artificial intelligence revolution, Sinopec Group must, from a long-term and future-oriented perspective, actively develop strategic emerging industries through capital, and employ a market-based approach to realize industrial transformation and upgrade and sustainable development. In addition, Yan also looked back over how Sinopec Capital was founded, shared his understanding of current technological changes in the world and their impact on investment, and answered questions raised by employees.
